Solar-aware home charging

Charge your EV during likely solar-production periods.

Leave the car plugged in and Just In Charge uses a local solar forecast to schedule a compatible OCPP wallbox. No battery, local energy-management system or changes to your solar equipment are required.

  • Existing AC wallbox
  • No extra energy hardware
  • Departure time remains the constraint
Estimate solar-aware charging

How forecast-based solar charging works

Add the location and peak output of your solar installation, then choose when the car must be ready. The planner favors intervals with stronger forecast irradiance while still working toward the energy needed by departure.

  • Connect the wallbox through OCPP 1.6J.
  • Set the solar location, peak output and optional panel direction.
  • Review and change the generated charging plan at any time.

What it does not measure

The service does not read your inverter, household load or live grid export and needs no separate measurement equipment. It estimates likely production from weather data, so it cannot guarantee that every scheduled kilowatt-hour comes directly from your panels.

How the savings estimate is built

The website calculator uses your charging frequency, energy per charge, plug-in and ready-by window, selected provider, the previous 12 complete months of its published tariff data and historical solar irradiance for a representative location in the selected country. It schedules the same annual charging energy and compares the optimized result with the cheapest supported fixed tariff. Panel output, live self-consumption, household load and capacity or peak-demand charges are not modelled, so the result is a historical estimate rather than an exact bill.

When you can keep the existing equipment

No replacement charger is needed when the wallbox has reliable internet access, supports OCPP 1.6J and lets its owner or installer change the central-system URL.
